| THE SOCIAL BRAIN COURSE AT THE "8TH SUMMER UNIVERSITY OF IBIZA AND FORMENTERA", (SEPTEMBER 17-21, 2007) |
The 20 hour course “the social brain” presented by the summer university of the UIB was organised to introduce social neuroscience in the academic programme of the university. In fact, the course offered a panoramic view of the new perspectives that incorporate an evolutionary outlook in the study of the human beings’ social dimensions based upon the consideration of various basic aspects such as: altruism, cooperation, competition, culture, morality, emotions and violence. The design of the course was the initiative of the Dept. of Psychology of the UIB, which contacted Dr. Antoni Gomila and the chair “El Cervell Social” to establish a collaborative relationship for the definition of content, and in the organisation of the course.
